SILO THE HUSKIE
Song Of Columbus
(Tiberius Records)

Silo the Huskie have that even keel indie rock sound with a "pop." Their songwriting reflects the common man and the common life and sets up a laid back tone and cozy tempo sequence. Fantastic guitar work is what holds on to an alternative audience and gliding chords turn into ripped distortion and vice versa and usually are compounded together. Vocals stay the course of the music; they rise and fall slightly but are even tempered. I would say they are comparable to Neil Young's vox. "Pete Way" was my favorite because the violins added a climactic chill and sensational twist. Silo would fit well in both a coffee shop and bar setting, and most bands can't pull that off. The relaxing atmosphere and subtle theme of this release makes it something we can all relate to. Check it out at www.tiberiusrecords.com.
